Originally I only intended for the challenge to be something that my husband and I did, but after talking with some of my accountability sisters, I decided to share the challenge with them as well as share it on my Facebook and Instagram pages because everyone needs and desires something in life and only God can make it happen. I am excited to embark upon this journey and I am glad I have quite a few people to hold me accountable...because I know the struggle will get real at some point.
My husband and I have decided to do something neither of us have ever done before...observing Lent and fasting for 40 days and 40 nights (Wednesday, February 14 - Saturday, March 31). We are in our first year of marriage and we have been trying our best to be intentional about making sure God is the head of our union. We know that without Him we are nothing and our marriage will not sustain the evils of the world.
Today I want to reflect on how I am just in awe of how much I have really stepped outside my comfort zone the past two months. It all started when I went to a women’s empowerment conference called WerkPraySlay with one of my good friends. We were among so many beautiful, creative, and talented women who had successful businesses, blogs, products, services, and so much more. During the conference, I remained very low key because I had no business, blog, product, or service to talk about and networking at events (outside of school counseling) was completely out of my comfort zone.
Today’s topic is one we know oh so well—Getting Out of Your Own Way. I am guilty of this as many of us are. We allow fear to take over our mind and we fail to reach our fullest potential that God intended for us. I have many talents that I have been sitting on and it wasn’t until recently where I decided I really need to get out of my own way and make some moves.
Today is the first edition of Wild Card Wednesdays, which are designated for sharing anything from motivation, something I did the previous week, something going on in my life, or anything that is on my heart to share. I wanted to take some time to explain why I decided to make the change to Be Spiritually Bold in today’s post to help you get a better understanding of where I am coming from.
